My expectatives as future teacher

I have seen a lot of resources to implement in our classrooms. Now I just want to have the opportunity to teach students. I will try with students from high school or more advanced, because sincerely I think that work with kids needs more patience at the beggining, and since I haven’t taught yet. Of course I will try later on, but first in need to build my confidence as a new provider of knowledge. My teachers have shown me a wide palette of techniques, approaches, methods, activities to taught different types of students. I hope very soon make a post from my first experiences as a teacher.

Teaching a Language with Music

The musical approach in the classroom in one of my favorites, because I really enjoy music. If I wasn’t studying this BA, I would be studying contemporary music. This approach is very effective in kids. For adults it may result into a weird option because they can feel treated like children. So, it would be a nice diea to use it just for earlier students. Also, you can add games an activities to the class to create more friendly enviroments

Share your thought about techniques of learning for different types of students :)

Social Networks in the Classroom

Although social networks have some time on the web, the growth they have achieved in recent years shows the importance with which the news are handled today. We learn first of what is happening around the world for this medium, which has become the preferred method to keep trackof the stuff happening daily.
What is your favorite network ? The answer depends on your needs. You are looking for tutorials? Try YouTube. This is my favorite, I use it a lot to improve my playing in guitar by watching to some really good players around the world. And of course my listening, by suscribing to such inspiring people like Chris Smoove, you should definitely check it out !! He has some really nice commentary skills haha. What are your thoughts on girls ? Maybe you share the same aspects :

Tired of the same rhythms in music?

PC Tablets

Technology never stops to evolve. The options to use it are becoming wider, and in order to not become an obsolete teacher, is an obligation for us to adapt to this new tools. If you like to have instant access to information on the web maybe you have already thought in buying a new computer, a cellphone, or maybe a PC tablet. In this post I’m going to share with you some very good options of this gadgets.

According to Wikipedia:

A tablet computer, or a tablet, is a mobile computer, larger than a mobile phone or personal digital assitant, integrated into a flat touch screen and primarily operated by touching the screen rather than using a physical keyboard. It often uses an onscreen virtual keyboard, a passive stylus pen, or a digital pen

The term may also apply to a variety of form factors that differ in position of the screen with respect to a keyboard. The standard form is called slate, which does not have an integrated keyboard but may be connected to one with a wireless link or a USB port. Convertible notebook computers have an integrated keyboard that can be hidden by a swivel joint or slide joint, exposing only the screen for touch operation. Hybrids have a detachable keyboard so that the touch screen can be used as a stand-alone tablet. Booklets include two touch screens, and can be used as a notebook by displaying a virtual keyboard in one of them

Here are some examples of future releases of tablets

Panasonic Viera Tablet

For auditive learners…

Students have different learning styles; so, we as teachers need to develop dynamic classes to board up every kind of learner, or at least the most we can. My favorite approach in this moment is the auditive. I think this kind of approach is the one where we can develop a lot our reception of words. By knowing the lyrics of a song, or read them first, and then listen to the piece, it makes clearer the meaning, than if just we listen the song and we still have a tough job with “decode” the lyrics. As this is my blog, I want to share with one of my very favorite bands. You think you don’t need help to process the meaning of lyrics ? Better check this out and tell me if your ear skills are at the level of the circumstances.
The song is The Matter of Splatter,a song from the band Exhumed , covered by Job For A Cowboy

And JUST in case you missed some words… here are the lyrics:

Pernicious – A ghastly Gordian quandary to elucidate
Pestiferous – A nebulous necrotic novelty to navigate
Labyrinthine – A contumely carnal conundrum to cogitate
Serpentine – An exulcerated entanglement to execrate…

Hands stained and filthy from digging deep for the answer
That lies at the heart of the matter of splatter…

Eschatological – The grave matters with which we struggle
Pathological – The perverse perpetuation of this purulent puzzle
Repugnant – The wretched riddle unravels in a reeking revelation
Repulsive – The final fetid farce yields such a rancid realization

Now your morbid curiosity may finally be answered
Deep in the heart of the matter of splatter…

A morbid matter on which to meditate or mutilate
A deathly detail to deliberate and desiccate
A sombre study in which sagacity is tantamount to insanity
An insalubrious interest in the inhumed and the unsanitary…

An unhealthy pursuit of the purulent and parturient
A feculent fixation upon the fetid filth and excrement
An exhaustive examination of the excreted and the exhumed
A tireless appetite to hill the silt atop the tomb…

Nebulous – The sanguineous solution is seldom seen before the last
Amorphous – Seemingly always six deep feet beyond your grasp
Funereal – Carnal cartography to chart the course of life’s denouement
Corporeal – The wretched revelation that you sought proves harder to swallow
than you’d thought…

That anatomy is destiny is the unforgiving answer
Culled from the heart of the matter of splatter…

My experience so far…

My perspective of the class has changed a lot since the first day of school. I liked the idea of studying English in this school because of their academic level which is the best in the state.

My stay in the class has become more and more interesting and I feel very enthusiastic about the program, because I have learned a lot since the fisrt day.

In this particular case I want to talk about this subject “Tecnologías Educativas”, which is my favorite. The teacher has taught us such many useful tools to be prepared in our classes as future teachers.

The use of Prezi,Twitter, PowerPoint, and of course, WordPress, has been a very fun experience and I hope to learn a lot more. This will help me for the process of better

Uses of Excel as a Teacher

A pair of weeks ago we saw a variety of uses of Excel. For some of us it was kind of difficult to make the tasks at the same tempo as the teacher, because some mates are not familiar with the interface. At the end of the class every student was helped by other classmate with more knowledge about this software.

Even if we think this software could be difficult to manage, it is very important to get used to, because there are many options we can use to the advantage of or future jobs: to work as teachers.

If we impart mathematics, and it is needed to make some charts, for example, a demographic chart. Excel has the option to make formulas in a spreadsheet, which is very simple actually. Here is an example on how to make formulas for any given task:

And the following link is a tutorial for the making of charts:

Finally, I did some research on the internet and I found information about spreadsheets can be linked around the world. Let’s say we have a list with the grades of our students, our job’s place is in Yuriria, but in Guanajuato the main office ask us for the grades of the students, we can link the archive to the office and directly they can check for any changes.

Do your best to take advantage of this great software !!
